The Winery:
Talisman was created with a goal to produce delicious Pinot Noirs true to the terroir of the source grapes. The winery was founded by former head winemaker at Etude, Scott Rich, an expert in the production exceptional Pinot Noirs. The wines are produced in industrial area of southern Sonoma where several other local wineries are located. The name for the winery comes from an Indian Paho given to Scott by his mother, to protect the wearer from harm. The logo for the winery is a stylized version of the paho.

The Vineyards:
The winery purchases grapes from four different vineyards chosen for their unique site characteristics and potential to convey distinctive and singular terroirs. They are located on the northwest flank of Sonoma Mountain, 2000 ft in elevation, at Thorn Ridge on Sonoma Coast Range, the rolling hills of the Russian River Valley and the Wildcat Mountain Vineyard in Los Carneros.
