Winery:  The business office for the winery, which also accommodates tastings, is located in a beautiful French Style co untry farmhouse surrounded by wonderful rolling countryside. On a gray, cool morning when the vineyards are shrouded in gray and fog grips the edges of the distant trees it can almost feel like a dream trip to the moors of Ireland. The Winery: The Kirland Ranch has been in the Kirkland family for generations as a working cattle ranch.  Although not located in Los Carneros, it is so close the views from the tasting room veradah go to San Pablo Bay and beyond.  The tasting facility is done on the style of a rustic log ranch home, only on an incredibly large scale.  There is a $10 fee for a fairly large selection of red and white wines.  The western flair to the facility is done on a grand scale, making it a fun place to relax and taste wines.Read More

The Winery: Madonna is owned and operated by one of Napa Valley’s oldest winemaking families, the Bartoluccis.  The family’s first vineyard and winery, founded in the 1920s, was located in the Oakville region of the valley and sold in 1970.  The family then purchased the land in Los Carneros and once again began to grow grapes.  Within a few years the desire to once again produce commercial wines became too strong and the new Madonna Winery was built.  It is a beautiful Spanish Style facility with a wonderful, shade covered lawn and picnic area next the tasting room. Tastings range in price from $5 to $15 per person. The Winery: Francis Mahoney bought land in Carneros in 1972, and opened the winery, originally called Carneros Creek, in 1973. In 2001 he sold the Carneros Creek brand and began Mahoney Vineyards. The first wines were produced under that label in 2005. The actual winemaking facility was sold to Michael Mondavi Family in 2006. The Winery: Truchard is located in a beautifully restored rustic barn that was turned into a tasting room and winery in 1989.  The facility is surrounded by the estate vineyards as well as beautifully manicured gardens and lawns to enhance the experience.    The estate has five acres of olive trees producing Mission, Frantoio, and Pendolino olive varieties used in the production of olive oil for sale on site.  Tastings are free, but by appointment only and can include a tour of the vineyards and the 10,500 square foot wine cave.  Their  olive oil is also available for sale.    Read More
